Church Sneaking Mission

Steal files on Maria Woodsworth, her origins.
Jest Joseph will give a clue from what they heard, chapel area is where they'll be hiding something, like an entrance to maybe their labs.

Strangely enough, it's easy to notice there seems to be a plaque in the likeness of Jesus Christ. Some appear to be depicting the Stations of the Cross.

Stations of The Cross

There'll be a small shrine for Jesus Christ with the inscription:

We carry our cross with the Lord.
For we shall uphold our duty as he did.
We fall and suffer with him, enduring shame.
As we too are nailed on our cross,
we shall expire and be entombed in His Name.

Each plaque can be switched with a button inside the confessional. Either of the two assigned or a blank plaque. This activates the altar to move and a stairway can be seen.

One room can be a place where all equipment are held. Research equipment filled to the brim with all the manufacturing required. <something the jest can use and justify raiding the church.

Another filled with test tubes of demons. Even dissected ones.

Details: It's been only a couple of years since Sister Faulkner and Father Fallaci brought in this interesting specimen. Of all the decades in this kind of research and experimentation, we've yet to find anyone with the right kind of stock to form a symbiosis with the Demon Weapons we've created for our subject. And here we've hit upon a winner. I can scarcely believe there were people left with any inhuman lineage.

Judging by the family records and what other evidence we can observe, most of that heritage must've been "bred out", or at least "weakened" throughout the generations. I surmise that the corresponding hybrid of that generation have continued their line through just humans from that point on. Perhaps this particular strain in 703 is particularly stubborn, but one wonders why it chose now of all times to express itself and trigger? We still know little of the genetic mechanics behind demons and their relationship with Man. Perhaps, it was the Divide that became the necessary stimulation? Interesting.

In her current state, 703 proved to be docile and obedient once in our care. This can be greatly attributed to the measures of the Warden graciously applying his powers to our specifications all according to his Queen's orders. This proves necessary given the number of suicide attempts in the cell ward, troublesome. But we were able to continue with our progress on the Project at hand with her consent. We took the methods of Forgotten production, graciously forwarded to us by Professor Hugo Icarus, and modified it for our own ends.

Because both parties had nothing in common with each other, we have purposely continued with the operation while foregoing anesthetic in order to induce better melding between 703 and the Weapon so that it facilitates the synthesis of their senses on a "spiritual level". We've also modified her body to enhance her combat ability as we have done this. The excruciating the pain, the more likely the melding was likely to be successful. Necessary resuscitation and invocation rituals have been performed so we wouldn't lose her. Despite these precautions, it was nothing short of a miracle that this girl managed to survive the process... but we did it. But, not without its price.

This fusion requires the bodily fluids of individuals with supernatural potential in order to ensure the seal that has been established to stay in place. Or else, the subject may re-live past traumas through their senses. Their body may even begin re-experiencing and receiving wounds from the backlash from the forced fusion to start untangling. Should the seal be untangled completely too late, anything from coma to death are possible options.

A necessary drawback so our mass-production of these Weapons will lack opportunities to display and conspire disobedience. 703's progress have been nothing short of promising. But it will be an uphill battle attempting to replicate the same for everyone and not everyone has a demonic ancestor to trace back to nowadays.

Details: 703's training is progressing nicely. It was odd that Father Fallaci would volunteer to teach once more despite retiring from such a role. But, it gave the necessary impetus for improvement. Current and future parameters are being met to our satisfaction. We've brought in a weakened Psyche-Terrorist from the prison and ordered her to beat him to death just last night. She kept herself locked in her room the next day. Mental state could use some improvement, but with Fallaci keeping an eye on her and serving as her personal confidant, I'm sure this won't be an issue.

However, the more she utilizes her Demon Weapon or draws upon its power, the more we must increase the dosage on her drugs and the concentration of its concoction. This is a predicament. The more the drugs are used, the more fragile the seal will become. I would hate to lose all of this hard work for it to go to waste, but all of this data more than makes up for it, I suppose. I suggest having Sister Falkner and Father Fallaci to terminate her should her usefulness end.

Says the masked JEST member as they approached the metallic fence. It was dark and quiet at this time of day in the Sunlake Palms Church. The night was not young, for the evening services has already ended. Through their mask, the eye-less Jest examined the clearing past the gate. There was no one there, it was a better time than any. He addressed the star of this clandestine show with a bit of brevity. "If our info's right, they'll have something going on in the chapel. Your best bet getting inside to your objective. You'll have to figure out how. Remember, no one must know you were here or any sign that you were here."

They moved their back against the metallic rails while folding their hands together to boost the other up and over the barrier. "Here, let's get you over."

When prompted, the Jest taking on tonight's task would be lifted and hurled over the fence. It wouldn't be hard to land safely on both feet with their kind of background. Up ahead would be the Church as the eye-less-masked Jest gestured towards its double-door entrance after landing evenly side by side with their peer.

Quietly they would approach the door. Like outside of the fence, the area was dead of life, save for the trees that quietly swayed under the breeze. When reaching the door, the Jest examined carefully its lock and knob before giving the O.K. sign to the other before opening the door and leading them in. "Chatter's saying door's unlocked til midnight. I ain't seein' anything wrong. Make this a quick job with the USB they gave you for this. I'll be waiting outside, just in case if these holy men decide to come back. Good luck."

Entering the chapel was not difficult by any means, especially when it was empty. Being dark and in such a large space, it was easy to feel at unease. There was an altar at the back of the space where the leading priests of the morn could run the daily services. What else the intruder can notice are the several bronze plaques above each of the confessional doors. Some of the plaques are blank and others seem to depict the path of Jesus to the Golgotha, the Stations of the Cross.

SQ Gained:

The mechanisms began to fill the entire chapel. Eventually, the invader could finally notice the altar beginning to move and shift to the side before finally stopping to reveal a flight of stairs downstairs. When entering through the depths below, they would notice there was a lever nearby which can be assumed to be used to return back into the chapel now that the altar slid back in place to seal the opening shut.

But now, it was an entirely different area. Dark and damp, it seemed much more like a dungeon with the many empty cells. Some actually appeared to have bones, but difficult to tell if they were human. There were signs of wear and age in the very make of this floor, but signs of modernity with dim lighting and ventilation can be seen on the proceeding ceiling.

Five years. Five years of work and sacrifice.

The subjugation of the demon and Psyche-Terrorist in Little Tokyo, the capture of the Psyche-Terrorist in Vista Square, and her subsequent promotion as a higher ranked Cadet? I suppose it was all well worth it, stealing that weapon from its rightful owner. I admit, I didn't think that hopeless monster deserved it. But it's growing a toll on her body now and soon we won't be able to suppress it any longer. It'll be too dangerous to send her off to newer missions the more this progresses.

Her mental state is deteriorating as the seal is straining under pressure if her dreams are any indication. Should she be beaten in a weakened state, any mental influence can eke it out at this point. It's almost scary how she's able to hide this from the Cadets. We need to discuss with Father Fallaci about this, but he's adamant on leaving her be to spare her. Of all times, why did he choose now to be fatherly to someone who killed her own family?

With the quick use of the card key, it was relatively easy to get inside its system. After a little bit of searching and maybe after looking for the relevant information through keywords, the Jest would soon be able to get what they were looking for after a few clicks here and there with some typing. This information can be uploaded to the Deadline right now if needed...

Soon, however, a loud alarm began screeching through the Jest's ears as it began to rouse the entirety of the Church. It would fill the entire space and the area around her. The sound of mechanic gears whirring could also be heard in conjunction with the alarms. Soon, the intruder would begin an overhead speaker beginning to talk. "Attention all personnel. We have an intruder in the underground lab of BF One, Code Yellow. Find them! Lethal force is now permitted. We will now execute the Jonah Protocol. I repeat, we will now execute the Jonah Protocol."

Walls are beginning to shutter as the sound of metal clanging against the asphalt rang through the hallways. It was only going to be a matter of time before the Jest would be boxed in... if they didn't start hurrying themselves out of the place. But just as the Jest had uploaded the information through their phone, a message would ring out to them from their device in a singsong voice.

As the Jest approached up the stairs, it would seem they would be hitting the final leg of their journey. With the mechanism moving the altar to the side for an opening, they were free to leave the floor. But they were not yet free to leave the entire Church yet. For there was a group awaiting them. It was a small mass of individuals in this empty expanse of the chapel. They were led by what appeared to be a woman who regarded the intruder with some disdain on her smirk as she began cracking her knuckles.

When they finally exited the Church, the intruder would find wholesale destruction outside as the sirens were now audible even outside. The clearing that was vast and ominously welcoming to any visitors was littered with bodies. A group of priests and nuns that rose in defense could be found slain across the space. It reeked of iron as puddles of red would begin to pool. But in the midst of it was the same masked Jest who helped them get inside. They were just wiping their hands clean with a cloth from their pocket before noticing them and pocketing it. After stepping over a couple of corpses, the accomplice addressed them with a pleased tone as it became apparent there was something on its mask.

Power would surge through the faceless-masked Jest and thus came the Jester persona that manifested before them. In the next split second the gates that held the Church away from the rest of the world exploded as the Persona kicked it open. The metallic fencing that barred their way would sail through the air before hitting the asphalt. As the ethereal creature fizzled away from existence, the Jest gestured his fellow intruder to make a break for it. The way was clear. They would leave first and their partner could leave as well if they chose to do so... or if they wished to stay and test their fate once more.
